At the Campsite Le Neptune, everything is nearby ! As you go out of our campsite in Agde, you are by the Hérault river, perfect environment for amateur painters and lovers of beautiful landscapes.
For those who have good sea legs, it's the ideal location : our 3 pontoons are waiting for you to berth your boat.
You have the possibility to go sea fishing or to fish directly in the Hérault river, without a permit, but you can also navigate until the Canal du Midi, UNESCO world heritage site, or extend your navigation towards neighbouring ports.
In front of the campsite, a long bike path goes along the Hérault river. Perfect location for the cyclists as the bike paths tour of the Archipelago passes in front of our establishment. By bike, you can reach Grau d'Agde, a lovely fishing village, and its beautiful fine sand beach.
The path also leads you to Rochelongue and its large beaches, or even to the Cap d'Agde to discover the famous black sandy beach . Still on two wheels, you could easily join the greek city of Agde and its rich heritage.
Do not miss the Thursday market in Agde and its historical heart, full of monuments and vestiges. Also take the time to discover our museums or to stroll in the park of the Château Laurens. This Art Nouveau jewel, recently restored, offers an immersion into the refined universe of the XIX century with its unique architecture and its sumptuous sets. Nested in a green bower, it dominates the Hérault and represent an inevitable cultural step during your stay.
Le Cap d'Agde, it's the most animated part of the Archipelago, with its marina, its bars, restaurants and shops. You will find plenty of attractions : Aqualand, Aquapark, Aqua Dino, Lunapark… Without missing the large fireworks of the summer that illuminate the Mediterranean sky.
EXCURSIONS AND DISCOVERIES AROUND THE CAMPSITE
Just 12 miles away, discover Pézenas, famous for its night markets, its arts and crafts (glassblowers, leatherworkers, engravers...).
The locks of Fonseranes, engineering masterpiece of theCanal du Midi, are among the must-visit sites of the region.
A few kilometres away from the campsite, go explore the Etang de Thau, know for its oysters and its unique landscapes. An excursion in Sète, called the " Venice of Languedoc", also settles with its canals, its markets and its authentic port atmosphere.
Gastronomy and spirits amateurs do not miss the famous houseNoilly Prat in Marseillan, where you could discover the ancestral know-how of the french vermouth and enjoy a guided tour followed by a tasting.
For a cultural and peace moment, see you at the Abbey of Valmagne, magnificent Cistercian edifice surrounded by vineyards, classified as a historic monument and known for its peaceful atmosphere and its wine heritage.
